For families
Sometimes the student knows what to do. The hard part is getting it done.
Homework Monitor support is for families who need another calm person in the loop during homework time—not another worksheet, app, or lecture.
A strong fit
This may help when the bottleneck is follow-through.
- Your student puts off starting even when they understand the assignment
- Homework stretches across the entire evening because attention keeps drifting
- Several assignments at once feel overwhelming or hard to organize
- You end up repeating reminders and becoming the homework enforcer
- Your student works more steadily when another person is quietly present
- The problem is often “What do I do next?” rather than “I don’t know how to do this”
When something else is needed
Sometimes the right answer is a tutor—or another kind of support.
If your student needs intensive instruction in algebra, reading remediation, a specific language, test preparation, or another academic specialty, a qualified subject-matter tutor may be the better fit.
If your student needs clinical, therapeutic, crisis, or medical support, Homework Monitoring is not a substitute for those services.
A student may need a tutor for one subject and still benefit from a Homework Monitor for organization and follow-through across the rest of the evening.
What parents get back
Less time policing homework. More room to be the parent.
The nightly reminder loop can wear everyone down. Moving some of the prompting and accountability to another adult can change the role you have to play during homework time.
You are still involved in your student’s education. You just do not have to personally carry every minute of starting, redirecting, organizing, and asking, “What’s next?”
