Is this tutoring?
Not exactly. Homework Monitors help students get started, organize what is due, stay focused, keep going, and move through reasonable stuck points. When a student needs specialized instruction in a particular subject, a subject-matter tutor may be the better fit.
Is the service online?
Yes. Homework Monitor support happens online, so students can work from home with the assignments, school platforms, and materials they already use.
Where is the service available?
The service is designed for families across the United States. Homework Monitors are based in Virginia.
Will a Homework Monitor do assignments for my student?
No. The student does the work. A Homework Monitor can prompt, organize, ask questions, provide reasonable help with ordinary stuck points, and keep the student moving through the assignment.
What if my student finishes early?
The Monitor can help the student check what remains and move to another assignment, reading, or another agreed school task rather than treating the first finished item as the end of homework time.
What if my student needs a lot of help with one subject?
Tell us. Homework Monitoring may still help with the rest of the workload, but specialized academic instruction may require a tutor with expertise in that subject.
Can this help with organization or executive-function skills?
It can support everyday skills involved in homework such as starting, planning what comes next, organizing assignments, keeping track of time, returning after distraction, and following through. Homework Monitoring is educational support; it is not a diagnosis or clinical treatment for ADHD or any other condition.
What ages do you work with?
Fit depends more on whether the student can participate meaningfully in an online homework session than on one grade cutoff. Tell us the student’s general school level and what homework time looks like, and we can determine whether the service is appropriate.
Do I have to know exactly what kind of help to ask for?

How do I get started?
